In plain words: what Kairix keeps, where it keeps it, and when anything leaves your phone. Last updated October 28, 2026.
What Kairix keeps
- The people you add: names, birthdays, pictures, conditions and allergies.
- Medicines, how you take them, doses taken, refills, and label details from scans.
- Migraine logs, evening check-ins, appointments, treatments and your notes.
- Caregivers you add, with their phone numbers and emails.
- Your settings.
Where it’s kept
- Only on your phone. There’s no Kairix account and no Kairix server. This version doesn’t send your records anywhere.
- Locked. Everything is kept in an encrypted database. Its key stays in your phone’s secure key storage.
- Not in your phone’s automatic backup. To keep a copy, use Backup and restore in Settings. The backup file is locked with a passphrase you choose, and you decide where it goes.
- No ads, no tracking. Kairix doesn’t sell, share or study your information, and has no ads or analytics.
When something leaves your phone
Only when you do it, and you see it first:
- You print a page or save a PDF, and share it.
- You make a backup and save it somewhere.
- You send an email to report a problem or a crash. It opens in your email app, and has no medicine names.
- You call, text or email someone from Kairix, using your phone’s own apps.
- You scan a medicine’s barcode in Check before you buy. Only the product code goes to the FDA’s public list, to find its ingredients.
- You connect your patient portal. You sign in on your health system’s own page, and your medicines, allergies and appointments come straight to this phone. Kairix sends nothing back.
- You send a caregiver alert about a missed dose. It opens in your messages app, and you choose to send it.
- You save a spreadsheet of your records and put it somewhere. Period days are left out unless you choose them.
- While Kairix is being tested: you send your usage counts from Help us improve. Kairix counts how many times each part of the app is opened, on this phone, and the email holds only those counts. You can turn counting off there.
- You turn on Weather and air pressure. While the app is open, at most every 2 hours, a spot about 7 miles across around your ZIP code goes to MET Norway’s free weather service. Your ZIP code, your name and your records stay on this phone. Like any website, the service can see your phone’s internet address.
Camera, notifications and lock
- Label pictures are read on your phone, then thrown away. They’re never uploaded.
- Reminders are set on your phone. Medicine names stay off the lock screen unless you turn them on.
- App lock can ask for your fingerprint, face or phone PIN each time Kairix opens.
- Period days are off until you turn them on. They stay on this phone and are never shown on the widget.
Your choices
You can change what you entered, and remove medicines, appointments and caregivers. Removing Kairix from your phone deletes everything in it, except backups or PDFs you saved elsewhere.
Anything new that sends information will be off until you turn it on, and this page will say what it sends.
Notes for testers
- This is an early test version. Things may not work right. Keep your own medicine list too, or your pharmacy’s printout.
- It’s not medical advice. Warnings and label limits are drafts waiting for a pharmacist’s review. Ask your doctor or pharmacist before you change anything.
- Reminders and battery savers. Some phones delay alerts to save battery. Allow “Alarms & reminders” for Kairix, and open it now and then.
- Updates keep your records. Making a backup before installing a new version is still a good idea.
- Everything is free while testing. Nothing can be bought yet.
- Tell me what you find. Use the Contact tab, or Report a problem in the menu under your picture. After a crash, Kairix offers to send a report.
Not for emergencies. For a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
